U18 Boys Premier 1 Division Champions!
Congratulations to the CW3 Extreme 95 Boys team, champions of the U18 Boys Premier 1 division, the highest soccer division for U18 boys in the state.
The 1995 birth-year-group is the first birth-year-group to come completely through the CW3 program since the association’s inception in 2000. Many of the boys on the team have played their entire youthsoccer careers with CW3.
Mike Ciolfi, head coach of the boys had the following to say about them, “While they are all individually talented players, I attribute their success to the higher level of teamwork they show on the field. That teamwork is a direct result of these boys playing together over a period of several years, and there simply is no substitute for that experience. I couldn’t be more proud of them.”
James Taylor, assistant coach, and Extreme Chairman, added the following, “I’ve watched this group grow up from 5 year olds into young men. In addition to being outstanding athletes, they have excelled academically. They are a credit to themselves and to CW3. It has been a privilege and an honor to be a part of their team.”
CW3 wishes the boys the best in their future endeavors, both soccer and otherwise!
Congratulations U12 Boys!
Junior State Cup Champions
The CW3 Extreme Red U12 team won the 2012-2013 Jr. State Cup championship title! This success marks the first time a CW3 team has participated in a final state cup game, and won. They played the St. Clair Shores Select Storm for the second time, beating them again in the finals. The final score was 5-1, the only goal scored against the CW3 team by a penalty shot. The goals scored by the CW3 Extreme players were shared by Charlie Trevisan and Alex Miller, assisted by all of their teammates that do an excellent job of moving the ball out of the back and into a scoring position.
Coach Bryan Finnerty and assistant Coach Pat Willemsen have been working with a majority of these boys for the past 3 years. After the team celebration, Finnerty told parents, "I am very proud of these boys and how they represented our community and club with such dedication and class. Quite an accomplishment for a group of 11 and 12 year old boys (5 boys playing up a year)."
